We have developed a visible light-induced transition metal-free benzylic C(sp(3))-C(sp(2)) defluorinative coupling reaction between indole derivatives and polyfluoroarenes via the sequential electron transfer-proton transfer (ET/PT) process, resulting in various polyfluorinated diarylmethanes. This protocol offers mild reaction conditions and good functional group tolerance.
