Dioxins control as co-processing water-washed municipal solid waste incineration fly ash in iron ore sintering process

Zhiyun Ji et al.

Summary: The study showed that adding WM-FA in iron ore sintering process can reduce the concentration of PCDD/Fs. By preparing 5-8 mm WM-FA pellets coated with a CaO-containing additive, and due to the inhibiting effect of CaO on the chlorination reaction, the emission concentration of PCDD/Fs was effectively decreased.

Morphology and nanostructure of flame-formed soot particles from combustion of typical municipal solid waste

Junjie He et al.

Summary: The structural properties of soot particles released during the pellet combustion of different municipal solid waste were investigated. The results showed that waste component materials strongly influenced the mass and morphology of the soot particles. Plastic waste resulted in higher mass and more compact morphology compared to biomass and kitchen waste. Nanostructural characterization revealed that paper and kitchen waste had the highest graphitization degree in the soot.

Investigation of gaseous and solid pollutants emitted from waste tire combustion at different temperatures

Dora Mentes et al.

Summary: Consumer society generates a large amount of waste, such as tires. The emissions of pollutants from burning tires are influenced by the firebox temperature, but research on this relationship is limited. In this study, the concentrations of flue gases and solid pollutants from burned tires were investigated experimentally, and the relationship between the decomposition of CaCO3 filler and emitted pollutant concentrations was discovered.
