Highly Efficient Au(I) Alkynyl Emitters: Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence and Solution-Processed OLEDs

Fei-Hu Yu et al.

Summary: A series of green to yellow TADF gold(I) complexes with alkynyl ligands have been developed for the first time, showing high photoluminescence quantum yields. By modifying the alkynyl ligands with electron-donating amino groups and using electron-deficient carbene ligands, the excited-state properties have been tuned to achieve TADF emission, leading to high external quantum efficiency in OLEDs.

High-Performance Ultraviolet Organic Light-Emitting Diode Enabled by High-Lying Reverse Intersystem Crossing

Han Zhang et al.

Summary: A high-quality UV emitter with hybridized local and charge-transfer excited state, 2BuCz-CNCz, is reported and applied in UV OLEDs. It features low-lying locally excited emissive state and high-lying reverse intersystem crossing process, balancing color purity and exciton utilization in UV OLED. The OLED based on 2BuCz-CNCz exhibits ideal narrowband UV electroluminescent and record-high maximum external quantum efficiency with small efficiency roll-off.
