Optimization of test condition on DL-EPR test for AL-6XN superaustenitic stainless steel using Taguchi method

Kwang-Hu Jung et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an optimal test condition for AL-6XN super-austenitic stainless steel using the Taguchi method, and evaluates the degree of sensitization (DOS) of stainless steel with the DL-EPR technique. The significant factors are NaCl concentration and H2SO4 concentration, while the KSCN concentration and temperature have a relatively low influence. The optimal condition is found to be 2 M H2SO4, 0.1 M KSCN, 2 M NaCl, and 30 degrees C.

A comparative analysis of the effect of laser surface treatment on the dry sliding wear behavior of ductile cast irons with different microstructures

Yilmaz Kucuk et al.

Summary: The wear behavior of ferritic and pearlitic ductile cast iron specimens after laser surface hardening was compared in this study. A single-pass laser surface hardening process was applied to increase the hardness and reduce the wear volume loss of the treated samples. The results showed that laser surface hardening can effectively improve the wear resistance of ductile cast iron.

Study of substrate preheating on the microstructure and mechanical performance of Ti-15Mo alloy processed by selective laser melting

Libo Zhou et al.

Summary: The densification behaviors, microstructure, and mechanical performance of Ti-15Mo alloy fabricated by selective laser melting with different substrate preheating temperatures were investigated. Increasing preheating temperature reduced the risk of micro-cracks and keyholes, leading to higher ductility, but it also increased grain size and decreased dislocation density, which hindered achieving high strength.

Effect of heat treatment, building direction, and sliding velocity on wear behavior of selectively laser-melted maraging 18Ni-300 steel against bearing steel

Ki Chang Bae et al.

Summary: This study investigated the wear performance of maraging 18Ni-300 steel fabricated via selective laser melting at different sliding speeds and heat treatment states. The results showed that abrasive wear was the dominant wear mechanism at relatively low sliding speeds, while plastic flow and delamination of the hardened area became predominant at high sliding speeds. The wear resistance of the material was significantly influenced by heat treatment and wear loading direction parameters.
