Application of the engineered sewage sludge-derived biochar to minimize water eutrophication by removal of ammonium and phosphate ions from water

Magdalena Konczak et al.

Summary: This study investigated the adsorption and desorption of phosphate and ammonium ions on engineered biochars derived from sewage sludge and willow. The results showed that different production conditions affected the adsorption and desorption properties of the biochars. Re-using these biochars in wastewater treatment can regulate the mobility and release rate of nutrients.

CLAYS IN COSMETICS AND PERSONAL-CARE PRODUCTS

Cesar Viseras et al.

Summary: Clays are widely used in cosmetics to improve stability and facilitate formulation, with talc, kaolinite, mica, and smectites being the most commonly used minerals. They provide cleaning, anti-aging, anti-wrinkling, and sun-care functions, as well as unique rheological properties that benefit cosmetic formulations.

Synthesis and Characterization of Magnetic Fe3O4/Zeolite NaA Nanocomposite for the Adsorption Removal of Methylene Blue Potential in Wastewater Treatment

Ngoc Bich Thi Tran et al.

Summary: The magnetic Fe3O4/zeolite NaA nanocomposite showed high adsorption capacity and removal efficiency, which increased rapidly with increased adsorption time and Fe3O4 loading. The adsorption mechanism is attributed to the interaction between Fe3O4 nanoparticles and zeolite NaA with the methylene blue molecules.
