Summary: CRDB catheter is more effective than Foley catheter in multiparas, associated with shorter time to delivery in both nulliparas and multiparas, and lower cesarean section rate in nulliparas.

The methodological quality of individual participant data meta-analysis on intervention effects: systematic review

Huan Wang et al.

Summary: This study assessed the methodological quality of individual participant data (IPD) meta-analysis and found unsatisfactory compliance in assessing risk of bias, interpreting results, providing a list of excluded studies, establishing an a priori protocol, and other key aspects. Future IPD meta-analyses need to improve protocol establishment, literature search, bias assessment, and strategies for dealing with unavailable data.

Double Foley catheter for labor induction: An alternative method

Mehmet Obut et al.

Summary: The study found that there were differences in cervical score, vaginal delivery rate, and pain score among the DFC, FC, and Cook cervical ripening balloon groups, but maternal overall satisfaction was similar. The DFC had relatively lower pain scores and higher maternal satisfaction during labor induction, making it particularly suitable for low-resource countries.
