Transmission electron microscopy image based micromagnetic simulations for optimizing nanostructure of FePt-X heat-assisted magnetic recording media

A. Bolyachkin et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of structural defects on the magnetic properties of FePt-X nanogranular media using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images and micromagnetic simulations. A new method for evaluating structural defects is developed and validated. The study directly links the nanostructure to the magnetic properties, enabling optimization of heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) media and design of magnetic nanomaterials in general.

Land cover classification in a mixed forest-grassland ecosystem using LResU-net and UAV imagery

Chong Zhang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new semantic segmentation network model, LResU-net, which utilizes high-resolution UAV images to classify different land cover types in mixed forest-grassland ecosystems. Results show that LResU-net outperforms other models in terms of accuracy and performance, making it the most suitable approach for land cover classification in such ecosystems.

Understanding the growth of high-aspect-ratio grains in granular L10-FePt thin-film magnetic media

Chengchao Xu et al.

Summary: A systematic investigation was conducted to optimize the microstructure of L1(0)-FePt-SiOx granular thin films as recording media for heat-assisted magnetic recording. By controlling the deposition temperature and silicon oxide concentration, high-aspect-ratio FePt grains and well-formed SiOx grain boundaries were achieved.

Machine Learning Approach for Evaluation of Nanodefects and Magnetic Anisotropy in FePt Granular Films

E. Dengina et al.

Summary: This paper presents a machine learning method to evaluate the demagnetization curves of FePt granular films. The predicted parameters of magnetic anisotropy and defect volume fractions were in good agreement with experimental results. This study provides a new approach for characterizing and optimizing the structure of FePt granular media.

Deep Learning-Assisted Quantification of Atomic Dopants and Defects in 2D Materials

Sang-Hyeok Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, an efficient and automated method for reliable quantification of dopants and defects in TMDs with single-atom precision is proposed based on a deep learning algorithm. The approach demonstrates precise mapping of atomic dopants and defects with a detection limit of approximate to 1 x 10(12) cm(-2), and with a measurement accuracy of approximate to 98% for most atomic sites. Furthermore, this methodology is applicable to large volumes of image data for extracting atomic site-specific information.
