Birefringent response of graphene oxide film structurized via femtosecond laser

Tingting Zou et al.

Summary: In this study, artificial in-plane birefringence properties were successfully achieved on a graphene oxide film using a novel femtosecond laser lithography method. The obtained sample showed evident optical birefringence and anisotropic photoresponse in the visible range, which can be modulated by the structural morphology or degree of oxide reduction. This technique has great advantages for fabricating integrated in-plane polarization-dependent devices and may help solve various problems in this field.

Resonant Laser Printing of Optical Metasurfaces

Xiaolong Zhu et al.

Summary: This work presents a cost-effective and lithography-free method for printing optical metasurfaces. By utilizing resonant absorption of laser light in an optical cavity formed by a multilayer structure, nearly perfect light absorption is achieved through interferometric control. This approach demonstrates reliability, upscaling, and subwavelength resolution in creating metasurfaces for structural colors, optical holograms, and diffractive optical elements.

Morphology adjustable microlens array fabricated by single spatially modulated femtosecond pulse

Yang Liu et al.

Summary: This study proposes a wet etching assisted spatially modulated femtosecond laser pulse fabricating technology to rapidly fabricate silica microlens arrays (MLAs) with multiple numerical-apertures (NAs). The technology modifies silica using a laser pulse with a large aspect ratio created through axial modulation, resulting in microlenses with larger NAs. Additionally, radial modulation enables the fabrication of MLAs with multiple NAs in a single exposure. The proposed technology has significant potential for various applications.
