Ion Intercalation Enabled Tunable Frequency Response in Lithium Niobite Memristors

Aheli Ghosh et al.

Summary: Memristors based on intercalation-driven lithium niobite (LiNbO2) have emerged as a promising option for developing neuromorphic hardware platforms. These memristors offer advantages such as large analog conductance tunability, wide resistance range, and low-power neuromorphic functionality resembling synaptic weight updates. However, there is limited understanding of their frequency response, which is a crucial characteristic for adaptive learning in neural networks. This study evaluates the tunable frequency dependence of resistance modulation in LiNbO2 memristors, enabling the identification of design rules for future scalable multifunctional memristive systems in neuromorphic computing applications.

Hardware Implementation of Edge Neural Network Computing for Sensor With Memristors Based on Single-Crystalline LiNbO3 Thin Film

Xinqiang Pan et al.

Summary: With the development of AIoT and the increase in data volume, conventional architecture faces challenges of heavy computing load, latency, and high energy consumption when all collected data are sent to the data center for processing. Utilizing the advantages of memristors, we propose conducting edge neural network computing at the sensor terminal to integrate sensing, memory, and computing. We fabricate highly uniform memristors based on LN thin film to realize binarized neural network computing and establish coupling between the pressure sensor output signal and the memristor array input to solve resistance states variation and device-to-device variation issues. By implementing memristor-based edge neural network computing, we achieve recognition of three letters (V, Z, and T) written on the pressure sensor array.

Influence of oxygen vacancies on the performance of SnO2 gas sensing by near-ambient pressure XPS studies

Lin Liu et al.

Summary: Modulating the concentration of V · · O in SnO2 is an effective strategy for improving its NO2 sensing performance. In this study, SnO2 nanowires (NWs) with enhanced V · · O concentration were synthesized by removing adsorbed H2O on the precursor surface. In-situ characterization revealed that V · · O provided active sites for adsorption and confirmed the formation of NO in sensing reactions.
