Natural Organic Materials Based Memristors and Transistors for Artificial Synaptic Devices in Sustainable Neuromorphic Computing Systems

Md Mehedi Hasan Tanim et al.

Summary: Natural organic materials, such as protein and carbohydrates, are ideal for constructing artificial synaptic devices for neuromorphic computing systems. These devices, based on memristors or transistors with natural organic materials, mimic the memory and learning behaviors of biological synapses. This paper reviews the functions emulated by various artificial synaptic devices and provides guidance for further testing and investigation.

Structure-Dependent Electron Transfer Rates for Dihydrophenazine, Phenoxazine, and Phenothiazine Photoredox Catalysts Employed in Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization

Mahima Sneha et al.

Summary: This study investigates the electron transfer activation step of organocatalyzed atom transfer radical polymerization using different N-aryl modified PCs, revealing that rate coefficients for electron transfer are influenced by the PC structures. The contributions to electron transfer from the S-1 state of each PC for different concentrations of MBP were also modeled, showing nearly diffusion-limited rate coefficients for certain photocatalysts. Additionally, comparisons between singlet and triplet reactivity for one of the phenoxazine PCs showed that the rate coefficients for electron transfer from the T-1 state were two orders of magnitude lower than that from the S-1 state.

Refining the Negative Differential Resistance Effect in a TiOx-Based Memristor

Xiaofang Hu et al.

Summary: Research shows that in Ag/TiO2/F-doped SnO2 memory devices, adding a nanoporous structure to the TiO2 film can effectively reduce the voltage gap of NDR and increase the current gap, achieving lower power consumption and faster switching time; in addition, compensations and synergies among nanoscale conduction filaments are the reason for the refinement of NDR behavior.

A branched dihydrophenazine-based polymer as a cathode material to achieve dual-ion batteries with high energy and power density

Shuaifei Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, a branched dihydrophenazine-based polymer was designed and synthesized for use as a cathode material in dual-ion batteries. The polymer exhibited a higher theoretical capacity and lower energy levels compared to a linear dihydrophenazine-based polymer, resulting in higher actual capacity and energy density. The branched structure of the polymer also contributed to a larger specific surface area, enabling faster ionic transport and higher power density.
