This study introduces a nanoprecipitation technique to machinate PVDF nanoparticles with predominant piezoelectric delta phase using the bi-solvent phase separation technique. The resulting delta-PVDF nanoparticles exhibit excellent piezoelectric properties and potential applications in self-power sensors and actuators.

The authors also demonstrate the thermal and ambient stability of the material, as well as its piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties.

The detector can detect presence of gamma-rays in a wide energy range from 100 to 1250 keV with noise-limited sensitivity capable of detecting activity down to 50 nCi, and has a reasonable mu tau approximate to 5.2 x 10(-3)cm(2)V(-1) gamma-ray, making it suitable for applications requiring long exposure. Additionally, a proof of concept for wearable, low-cost, portable solid state gamma ray detectors using paper electronics based halide perovskites has been established.
