Summary: This study reviewed the application of gamification in physical education classrooms in kindergarten, elementary school, and middle/junior/high school, and analyzed the scientific evidence. The results showed that most studies indicated an improvement in students' motivation and commitment towards physical exercise, but fewer studies confirmed improvements in academic performance. The diversity of protocols and evaluation instruments used by researchers prevented meta-analysis of the data. Some studies found positive effects when combining gamification with other pedagogical models.
