Global, Regional, and National Burden of Ischemic Stroke, 1990-2019

Quanquan Ding et al.

Summary: Based on the data, there are differences in the burden of ischemic stroke globally and regionally among different sexes, age groups, and social development indexes. The incidence rate, mortality, and disability-adjusted life-years of ischemic stroke increase with age, while the age-standardized death rate and age-standardized DALY rates increase most significantly in some regions.

Possible Sarcopenia and Impact of Dual-Task Exercise on Gait Speed, Handgrip Strength, Falls, and Perceived Health

Reshma Aziz Merchant et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of community-based dual-task exercise on muscle strength and physical function in older adults with possible sarcopenia. The results showed that the dual-task exercise program significantly improved gait speed, Short Physical Performance Battery score, and reduced the prevalence of poor handgrip strength, while also leading to significant improvements in perceived health and cognition.

Do motor-cognitive and motor-motor dual task training effect differently balance performance in older adults?

Hayrunnisa Akin et al.

Summary: The study compared the effects of mCdtt and mMdtt on balance, fear of falling, walking functionality, and muscle strength in older adults, finding no significant differences between the two programs, but improvement in balance ability with both. Future studies are needed to further compare clinical outcomes between mCdtt and mMdtt in older adults.
