Epitaxial Intercalation Growth of Scalable Hexagonal Boron Nitride/Graphene Bilayer Moire Materials with Highly Convergent Interlayer Angles

Shengnan Wang et al.

Summary: Chemical vapor deposition growth of hBN/graphene bilayers with high-purity moiré phase and interlayer angles under 0.5 degrees has been demonstrated, leading to enhanced carrier mobility. This approach may contribute to the large-scale fabrication of high-quality van der Waals heterostructures.

Theoretical study on role of edge termination for growth direction selectivity in chemical vapor deposition of hBN/graphene heterostructure on Cu surface

Hiroyuki Kageshima et al.

Summary: The role of edge termination in the growth direction selectivity of graphene heterostructures with hexagonal boron nitride has been theoretically studied. Different edge terminations lead to lateral and vertical growth of the heterostructures. The mechanisms behind these different edge terminations are discussed based on H adsorption kinetics.
