Insight into Debye Huckel length (κ-1): smart gravimetric and swelling techniques reveals discrepancy of diffuse double layer theory at high ionic concentrations

Talal AL-Bazali

Summary: This study used smart gravimetric and swelling techniques to examine the validity of the Debye Huckel length equation in interactions between shale and highly concentrated salt solutions. The results indicate that the equation works adequately at low ionic concentrations but might be questionable at high concentrations.
