Labor Market Concentration, Earnings, and Inequality

Summary: This study documents trends in local industrial concentration from 1976 to 2015 and estimates the effects of concentration on earnings outcomes. The findings show that increased local concentration reduces earnings and increases inequality. Labor Market Experience and Falling Earnings Inequality in Brazil: 1995-2012

Polycentric urban structure and innovation: evidence from a panel of Chinese cities

Perceived income inequality increases status seeking among low social class individuals

Summary: This study aimed to establish a causal relation between income inequality and status seeking by investigating the effects of perceived income inequality on the pursuit of positional goods. The results showed that perceived income inequality increased the pursuit of positional goods among participants with low social status, but not among participants with high social status. Measuring polycentric structures of megaregions in China: Linking morphological and functional dimensions
