A Self-Pumping Dressing with Multiple Liquid Transport Channels for Wound Microclimate Management

Hai Zhu et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel self-pumping dressing (FAED) with multiple liquid transport channels is designed, which can rapidly remove excess biofluid from the wound and provide good ventilation and wetting effect. It also has the characteristics of adapting to body contours and providing good supporting performance, making it a promising option for wound treatment and intensive care.

A self-pumping dressing with in situ modification of non-woven fabric for promoting diabetic wound healing

Lubin Zhou et al.

Summary: Improper management of wound exudate delays diabetic wound healing. A novel diabetic wound dressing with double-layer structure and hydrophobic nanofibers on a hydrophilic non-woven fabric is reported. It diverts excessive exudate away from the wound bed and prevents rewetting, resulting in low inflammatory response and excellent wound healing. The self-pumping dressing has clinical significance for designing next-generation dressing for diabetic wound healing.

The Most Current Algorithms for the Treatment and Prevention of Hypertrophic Scars and Keloids: A 2020 Update of the Algorithms Published 10 Years Ago

Rei Ogawa

Summary: This article reviewed and updated the literature on hypertrophic scars and keloids. The findings suggest that treatment methods depend on the severity and number of scars, while prevention methods include local factors, systemic factors, genetic factors, and lifestyle factors. Conservative therapy is the preferred treatment for keloids, but surgery is necessary for severe scars.

Simulation of Internal Flow Characteristics of an Axial Flow Pump with Variable Tip Clearance

Jiantao Shen et al.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of the change in blade tip clearance on the internal flow characteristics of a vertical axial flow pump. The research found that increasing the tip clearance led to a decrease in pressure gradient and an increase in leakage vorticity, which had adverse effects on the performance of the pump.

Flow Characteristic Analysis of the Self-Priming Pump Based on the Population Balance Model

Hao Chang et al.

Summary: This article employs the Population Balance Model to investigate the air-liquid two-phase flow characteristics of self-priming centrifugal pumps. The study considers the collision and coalescence between bubbles. The results show that bubble coalescence is more frequent at the shroud, facilitating the formation of large-sized bubbles. Increasing flow conditions significantly reduce pressure pulsation of the gas-liquid two-phase flow, while improving air voids not only disrupts the flow's stability and symmetry, but also increases pressure pulsation amplitude.

Elastic Janus film for Wound Dressings: Unidirectional Biofluid Transport and Effectively Promoting Wound Healing

Bing Xu et al.

Summary: The traditional dressings' hydrophilicity cannot effectively manage excessive biofluid, hindering wound healing, and current dressings also have problems with limited stretching capability. This study presents a Janus wound dressing with the function of unidirectional biofluid draining, accelerating wound healing. Additionally, amoxicillin powder is encapsulated on the surface of the dressing to prevent bacterial infection.
