The Influence of Thermomechanical Compaction on the Marginal Adaptation of 4 Different Hydraulic Sealers: A Comparative Ex Vivo Study

Alessio Zanza et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the marginal gap between obturation materials and dentinal walls using scanning electron microscopy for four different endodontic sealers with the single-cone technique or thermomechanical compaction. The results showed no significant differences in marginal gap between the two obturation techniques for each sealer, except for the middle third of root canals for AHP, ES, and GF sealers. In conclusion, the thermomechanical compaction technique combined with hydraulic sealers and gutta-percha provides better sealing than the single-cone technique when the root canal shape is not rounded.

Pushout Bond Strength of Root Fillings after Irrigation of Root Canals Utilizing Sodium Hypochlorite, Chlorhexidine, and Homeopathic Mother Tincture (Arnica Montana)

Unmesh Khanvilkar et al.

Summary: The study investigated the pushout bond strength of root fillings at radicular dentin using NaOCl, CHX, and Arnica montana as an irrigant. The results showed that NaOCl significantly decreased the bond strength of AH Plus to dentin, while CHX and Arnica montana reversed the compromised bond strength. Final irrigation with CHX or Arnica montana reduced the risk of diminished binding capacity of AH Plus to root canal walls after using NaOCl as an irrigant.

Physicochemical properties of a novel bioceramic silicone-based root canal sealer

Wei-Jia Lyu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the physicochemical properties of a novel bioceramic silicone-based sealer, Bioseal, and compared it with four other sealers. Bioseal demonstrated higher film thickness and fast exothermic reactions, showing unique characteristics among the tested sealers.

Oral Health Preventive Program in Patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Elisabetta Carli et al.

Summary: The aim of the study was to evaluate clinical hygienic parameters, patient collaboration, and dental habits in patients with ASD before and after a tailored prevention program. The results showed that the prevention program significantly improved the patients' plaque index, gingival index, and frequency of tooth brushing. There was no significant difference in the frequency of snacks and the dmft/DMFT parameter. The collaboration between the patients also significantly improved after the prevention program.
