A blend of renewable and nonrenewable energy consumption in G-7 countries: The role of disaggregate energy in human development

Summary: This study examines the effects of renewable and nonrenewable energy consumption on human development in G-7 countries. The results indicate that energy consumption, urbanization, globalization, and economic growth contribute to human development. The study also identifies bidirectional causality between renewable and nonrenewable energy consumption and human development. Recommendations are made for policymakers to improve infrastructure, reduce the cost of clean energy, and implement environmental measures. Additionally, it is suggested for national and local governments to develop a national urbanization strategy.

Estimating the energy consumption function: evidence from across the globe

Summary: This study examines the factors determining the energy consumption function for 79 economies, based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The findings reveal that economic growth, carbon emissions, and urbanization are the key factors shaping energy consumption in most economies. Therefore, energy policies should take into account both economic growth and environmental quality to achieve sustainable development goals.
