Towards an understanding of how stress and resources affect the nonmedical use of prescription drugs for performance enhancement among employees

Summary: Based on the Job Demands-Resources model, this study investigated employees' willingness to use prescription drugs for cognitive enhancement in response to job demands and examined the role of resources in this process. The results showed that job demands and resource scarcity increased strain, consequently increasing the willingness to use prescription drugs for cognitive enhancement.
