Dislocation transmission across Σ3{112} incoherent twin boundary: a combined atomistic and phase-field study

Tengfei Ma et al.

Summary: This study investigates the interaction between a glide dislocation and an incoherent twin boundary in copper, revealing the influence of partial dislocations in the twin boundary on slip transmission. Predictions of transmission planes by PFDD and MD show agreement, with critical transmission stresses falling within specific ranges under different conditions.

The influence of alloying on the stacking fault energy of gold from density functional theory calculations

Anuj Goyal et al.

Summary: The SFE energy curves of pure gold and its binary alloys with transition metals are determined from DFT, showing the influence of alloying elements on SFE. Different calculation methods yield different results for SFE. The introduction of alloy elements decreases the intrinsic SFE of gold, but SFE is strongly influenced by the distance and concentration of the alloying elements.
