Economic policy uncertainty exposure and corporate innovation investment: Evidence from China

Xin Cui et al.

Summary: The study found a significant negative relationship between firms' heterogeneous exposure to economic policy uncertainty (EPU exposure) and corporate innovation investment, influenced mainly by operational risk and financial distress, as well as firm-specific factors such as government ownership, subsidies, profitability, R&D personnel level, and net working capital sufficiency. This research provides new evidence on the impact of EPU exposure on firm behavior in China amidst significant economic and financial reform uncertainty.

Basel Compliance and Financial Stability: Evidence from Islamic Banks

Mohammad Bitar et al.

Summary: Compliance with the Basel Core Principles has a strong positive effect on the stability of conventional banks, with a less pronounced effect on Islamic banks.
