Economic policy uncertainty exposure and corporate innovation investment: Evidence from China

Summary: The study found a significant negative relationship between firms' heterogeneous exposure to economic policy uncertainty (EPU exposure) and corporate innovation investment, influenced mainly by operational risk and financial distress, as well as firm-specific factors such as government ownership, subsidies, profitability, R&D personnel level, and net working capital sufficiency. This research provides new evidence on the impact of EPU exposure on firm behavior in China amidst significant economic and financial reform uncertainty.

Summary: The study results indicate that Chilean companies required to distribute at least 30% of their net profits did not differ significantly in investment decisions from those not subject to this restriction.
