Exploring the Road toward Environmental Sustainability: Natural Resources, Renewable Energy Consumption, Economic Growth, and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Yugang He et al.

Summary: This paper examines the dynamic relationship between variables such as renewable energy consumption, economic growth, oil rent, and natural resources, and greenhouse gas emissions in China. The results suggest that renewable energy consumption and oil rent contribute positively to environmental sustainability, while economic growth and natural resources hinder it. These findings provide potential solutions for China's environmental sustainability.

Quantifying Mineral Resources and Their Uncertainty Using Two Existing Machine Learning Methods

Nadia Mery et al.

Summary: The study proposes using multiple linear regression and multilayer neural network machine learning methods to directly generate grade-tonnage curves and confidence intervals for mineral resources from data. Results show that these ML methods perform similarly and outperform traditional prediction methods, especially in the presence of true variogram models. The coverage probabilities of different CIs reach nominal levels, indicating adequate quantification of resource uncertainty.

Physical and monetary asset accounting of mineral resources in India

Dasarathi Padhan et al.

Summary: This paper constructs the physical and monetary asset account of mineral resources in India using the SEEA framework, and employs the Net Present Value approach to analyze Manganese Ore, Iron Ore, and Bauxite. It reveals that the reserves of these minerals have gradually declined from 1995 to 2015 due to the growth of mineral extraction, with Bauxite showing the fastest extraction rate. Although all minerals had negative resource rents in 1995, it turned positive and recorded growth in the subsequent years. Overall, the NPV of the resources has significantly increased from 1995 to 2015. This research contributes to SDG 12, Target 2, which aims to achieve the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources by 2030.

Cleaner Technology and Natural Resource Management: An Environmental Sustainability Perspective from China

Fiza Shaheen et al.

Summary: This research examines the impact of cleaner technologies, green energy sources, and natural resource management on greenhouse gas emissions reduction in the Chinese economy. The findings indicate that increasing demand for green energy leads to a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions. Optimum resource usage enhances environmental quality, and there is a positive association between inward foreign direct investment and greenhouse gas emissions. Inadequate access to clean cooking technology and increased population density negatively affect China's environmental sustainability agenda.

Exploring the nexus between agriculture and greenhouse gas emissions in BIMSTEC region: The role of renewable energy and human capital as moderators

Gagan Deep Sharma et al.

Summary: This study examines the impact of agriculture value-added, pesticide use, renewable energy adoption, human capital, and economic growth on greenhouse gas emissions in BIMSTEC countries. The findings suggest a U-shaped relationship between agriculture value-added and emissions, with human capital having a negative effect and pesticide use having a positive effect. The moderation effect of human capital and renewable energy on emissions is also discussed, highlighting the potential of renewable energy adoption in mitigating the impact of pesticide use on greenhouse gas emissions.
