Factors associated with maternal overall quality of life six months postpartum: a cross sectional study from The Norwegian Mother, Father and Child Cohort Study

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between characteristics of the mother, selected symptoms, health perception, and characteristics of the environment with mothers' overall quality of life when the child is 6 months old. The study found that joy of having a baby, high relationship satisfaction, and normal sleep duration in the baby were associated with higher maternal quality of life. On the other hand, postnatal depression was negatively associated with mothers' quality of life.

Weight gain trajectories patterns from pregnancy to early postpartum: identifying women at risk and timing to prevent weight regain

Summary: This study aimed to identify and characterize weight change trajectories from pregnancy to one year postpartum among adult women. The study found that women with obesity before pregnancy have higher odds of regaining gestational weight after delivery without reaching their pre-pregnancy weight. Therefore, the first six months postpartum are crucial to establishing obesity prevention strategies.

Facilitators and barriers to behaviour change within a lifestyle program for women with obesity to prevent excess gestational weight gain: a mixed methods evaluation

They highly valued the Healthy Pregnancy Service and found that service support helped facilitate behavior change. The findings also highlighted the importance of implementing an integrated model of maternity care to support healthy lifestyle and recommended gestational weight gain.
