Silver nanoparticles improved the plant growth and reduced the sodium and chlorine accumulation in pearl millet: a life cycle study

Imran Khan et al.

Summary: Salt stress in agricultural soils is a global issue, and the efficacy of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in plants under salt stress is still not well understood. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of AgNPs in improving plant growth and reducing salt-induced damages in pearl millet. Exposure to AgNPs significantly influenced the morphology, physiology, and yield-related attributes of pearl millet plants exposed to different salinity doses. AgNPs helped reduce oxidative stress, maintain ionic balance, and enhance antioxidant enzyme activities in plants under salt stress, ultimately leading to improved growth, yield, and photosynthesis.
