The Prevalence of Mild, Moderate, and Severe Nomophobia Symptoms: A Systematic Review, Meta-Analysis, and Meta-Regression

Haitham Jahrami et al.

Summary: NOMOPHOBIA, or NO MObile PHone Phobia, is a psychological condition where people fear being disconnected from their mobile phones. This review aimed to determine the prevalence of nomophobia symptoms in youth and young adults, including severity, country, culture, population, measurement tool, and year of data collection. The study found that approximately 20% of individuals showed mild symptoms, 50% showed moderate symptoms, and 20% showed severe symptoms of nomophobia. University students from non-Western cultures were most likely to suffer from severe symptoms. The findings have important implications for timely and effective therapeutic management.

Scoping out the scope of scoping reviews in neonatal and pediatric pain management: A scoping review methodological framework

Neha Sharma et al.

Summary: This methodological framework aims to discuss the considerations for conducting a scoping review in the field of neonatal and pediatric pain management (NPPM). Currently, there are no available scoping reviews or standard methods for identifying, prioritizing, or reporting research gaps in NPPM. The framework describes the methods used to conduct a comprehensive scoping review in the NPPM area and provides different approaches for determining research gaps.

Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q): Factorial structure and cut-off points for the Spanish version

Ana Leon-Mejia et al.

Summary: A study on the Spanish version of the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q) was conducted to analyze its factor structure and reliability, test for invariance across sex and age groups, and determine specific cut-off points. The study found satisfactory internal validity and reliability values for the NMP-Q dimensions.

Risk-of-bias VISualization (robvis): An R package and Shiny web app for visualizing risk-of-bias assessments

Luke A. McGuinness et al.

Summary: Despite the availability of numerous software options for evidence synthesis, there is currently no universal tool for generating figures to display and explore risk-of-bias assessments. However, tools such as the R programming environment and Shiny have made it easy to create new tools for producing evidence syntheses. The new tool robvis facilitates the rapid production of publication-quality risk-of-bias assessment figures and is available as an R package and web app.

A systematic review on nomophobia prevalence: Surfacing results and standard guidelines for future research

Ana C. Leon-Mejia et al.

Summary: The study shows that women and younger individuals are more susceptible to nomophobia. There is a significant disparity in reporting the prevalence of nomophobia, with percentages of at-risk participants ranging from 13% to 79% and participants suffering from it between 6% and 73%. The variation in prevalence rates is attributed to differences in assessment criteria, making it challenging to draw definitive conclusions about who may be at a higher risk of suffering from nomophobia.

Nomophobia in Lebanon: Scale validation and association with psychological aspects

Youssef Farchakh et al.

Summary: The study aims to validate the psychometric properties of the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q) and examine the associations between nomophobia and particular psychological conditions among Lebanese people. The results suggest a positive correlation between nomophobia and psychological conditions, highlighting the need for longitudinal and prospective studies to better understand the nature, causes, and attributes of nomophobia.

Improving the reporting quality of reliability generalization meta-analyses: The REGEMA checklist

Julio Sanchez-Meca et al.

Summary: Reliability generalization (RG) is a meta-analytic approach to studying variations in reliability estimates of the same test across different applications. REGEMA checklist was developed to improve the reporting quality of RG meta-analyses. It can be used by meta-analysts, consumers, reviewers, and editors to enhance the quality of reporting in RG meta-analyses.
