Developing scripted video cases for teacher education: Creating evidence-based practice representations using mock ups

Summary: Video cases are commonly used in teacher education to support knowledge acquisition. This study introduces a novel approach of using scripted video cases and evaluates its effectiveness through four studies. The findings suggest that the developed video cases are of high quality and can be used in initial teacher education.

An Epistemic Network Approach to Teacher Students' Professional Vision in Tutoring Video Analysis

Summary: This study investigates the performance of 42 biology teacher students in a tutoring video analysis task. The results show that the skills of teacher students are similar to those of novices according to previous PV literature findings, but some students also demonstrate higher level understanding. The study suggests that tutoring video analysis training can be beneficial for teacher students' PV training, but more support is needed for content-specific noticing and reasoning.
