Validation of the De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale in Peruvian old adults: a study based on SEM and IRT multidimensional models

Summary: Loneliness is an important public health problem and its assessment is crucial for identifying older adults who experience greater loneliness and implementing appropriate interventions. This study evaluated the psychometric properties of the De Jong Gierveld Solitude Scale (DJGLS) in Peruvian older adults and found that it is a reliable and valid instrument to be used in this context.

Summary: This study analyzed the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the Three-Item Loneliness Scale (TIL Scale) and found acceptable internal consistency and factor loadings in samples of Spanish-speaking populations. Positive associations were also found between the TIL Scale and measures of loneliness, depression, and anxiety symptoms.
