A Chaotic Image Encryption Method Based on the Artificial Fish Swarms Algorithm and the DNA Coding

Yue Zhu et al.

Summary: In this paper, we propose a chaotic digital image encryption scheme based on an optimized artificial fish swarm algorithm and DNA coding to address the problems of small key space and weak resistance to differential attacks in existing encryption algorithms. The key is associated with the ordinary image pixel through the MD5 hash operation, and the hash value generated by the ordinary image is used to increase the sensitivity of the key. The artificial fish school algorithm is used to scramble the positions of pixels in the block, and scrambling operation between blocks is proposed to increase the scrambling effect. Operations based on DNA encoding, obfuscation, and decoding technologies are performed in the diffusion stage to obtain encrypted images.

Grid-scroll memristive chaotic system with application to image encryption

Qiang Lai et al.

Summary: The paper establishes a four-dimensional multi-scroll chaotic system by adding a flux-controlled non-volatile memristor to a simple three-dimensional chaotic system. The system is extended to generate grid-scroll chaotic attractors by replacing the linear term with a triangular wave function. The evolution of chaos is studied and the existence of coexisting attractors is observed. In addition, the proposed system can be controlled by adjusting the parameters and the circuit implementation results are consistent with numerical simulations.

Hidden and unstable periodic orbits as a result of homoclinic bifurcations in the Suarez-Schopf delayed oscillator and the irregularity of ENSO

Mikhail Anikushin et al.

Summary: This study revisits the classical Suarez-Schopf delayed oscillator and focuses on the region of linear stability in parameter space. By utilizing the theory of inertial manifolds, the existence of two-dimensional inertial manifolds in the model is analytically and numerically supported, allowing for a complete qualitative description of the dynamics in the region of linear stability. The study reveals the existence of two subregions with hidden or self-excited attracting periodic orbits, separated by a curve on which homoclinic figure eights should exist. The findings provide valuable insights into irregular oscillations and chaotic behavior in climate systems, as well as in other coupled systems.
