A second order numerical method for the time-fractional Black-Scholes European option pricing model

Kamran Kazmi

Summary: In this paper, an efficient and accurate numerical method is designed for solving the time-fractional Black-Scholes equation governing European options. The method discretizes the equation in both time and space using numerical integration scheme and central difference formulas, and its stability and convergence are analyzed. The method is shown to have second-order accuracy in both space and time. Richardson extrapolation is also introduced to accelerate the convergence for the time-fractional Black-Scholes equation with non smooth initial data. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the method.

Fast Compact Difference Scheme for Solving the Two-Dimensional Time-Fractional Cattaneo Equation

Lijuan Nong et al.

Summary: In this paper, an efficient scheme for solving the time-fractional Cattaneo equation in two space dimensions is proposed. The scheme includes a semi-discrete numerical scheme, order reduction technique, and fast discrete algorithms, and takes into account the graded meshes in the time direction and the stability and convergence of the numerical scheme. Numerical examples demonstrate the accuracy and computational efficiency of the derived scheme.

AN ENERGY STABLE AND MAXIMUM BOUND PRESERVING SCHEME WITH VARIABLE TIME STEPS FOR TIME FRACTIONAL ALLEN--CAHN EQUATION

Hong-lin Liao et al.

Summary: In this work, we propose a Crank-Nicolson-type scheme with variable steps for the time fractional Allen--Cahn equation that is unconditionally stable and maximum bound preserving, able to recover the classical energy dissipation law at a specific fractional order. By establishing a discrete transformation between two discrete fractional derivatives, we introduce a reversible relationship between the L1-type formula of the Riemann-Liouville derivative and a new L1-type formula of the Caputo derivative.
