An Algebraic Approach to Identifiability

Daniel Gerbet et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the identifiability problem of nonlinear polynomial state-space systems using an algebraic approach based on distinguishability and observability. Techniques from algebraic geometry, such as polynomial ideals and Grobner bases, are employed to derive local and global results. The methods are demonstrated on example systems.

Improved high gain observer design for a class of disturbed nonlinear systems

M. Farza et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new Non Peaking Filtered High Gain Observer (NPFHGO) to address the peaking phenomenon and high frequency measurement noise sensitivity during transient periods in systems. The NPFHGO shares a similar structure with the Standard High Gain Observer (SHGO) but differs in its corrective term, and its equations become identical to those of SHGO after reducing the transient time horizon to sufficiently high values of the design parameter.
