Summary: The development of high-throughput sequencing has advanced the understanding of genotype-phenotype correlations in congenital diseases. Neuroinflammatory diseases, although rare, are increasingly recognized among inborn errors of immunity and can have a significant impact on patient care. This review focuses on the signs and symptoms of neuroinflammation associated with pathogenic variants in immune genes and proposes a subdivision based on underlying mechanisms.

Association between familial Mediterranean fever and multiple sclerosis: A case series from the JIR cohort and systematic literature review

Summary: Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) may be associated with multiple sclerosis (MS), but MEFV gene carriage is not significantly correlated with MS. The prevalence of MS in FMF patients is higher than expected in the healthy population, while the prevalence of FMF in MS patients might not be significant. Further studies are needed to explore a potential causal association between FMF and MS.
