Effect of MWCNTs Incorporation Into Polypyrrole (PPy) on Ammonia Sensing at Room Temperature

Shiv Dutta Lawaniya et al.

Summary: We investigated the gas sensing properties of nanocomposites of polypyrrole (PPy) and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) synthesized using ex situ and in situ polymerization techniques. The MWCNTs were well dispersed in the PPy matrix prepared via in situ technique. The in situ prepared PPy-MWCNT composite showed superior sensing performance towards NH3 with high response, short response/recovery time, good selectivity, and repeatability.
