Polymer-modified halloysite nanotubes with high adhesion and UV-shielding properties for chlopyrifos application on cotton leaves

Yan Qin et al.

Summary: We have developed an anti-ultraviolet and high-adhesion pesticide carrier based on halloysite nanotubes (Hal) loaded with chlorpyrifos (CPF). The retention rate of PPH@CPF on cotton leaves was 74.33%, which is 1.8 times more efficient than PH@CPF. The hydrophilicity of PPH@CPF was enhanced with the decrease in pH, and its release rate gradually increased.

H2O2-responsive polymer prodrug nanoparticles with glutathione scavenger for enhanced chemo-photodynamic synergistic cancer therapy

Guanchun Wang et al.

Summary: This study design H2O2-responsive polymer prodrug nanoparticles for chemo-photodynamic synergistic cancer therapy. The nanoparticles efficiently prevent premature drug leakage, deliver drugs to the tumor site, and release drugs triggered by endogenous H2O2. The combination of chemotherapy and photodynamic therapy effectively kills cancer cells, and the nanoparticle can scavenge GSH to enhance the therapeutic effect.

ROS-responsive thioether-containing hyperbranched polymer micelles for light-triggered drug release

Guanchun Wang et al.

Summary: This article introduces a responsive polymer that can release drugs effectively in target cells in response to reactive oxygen species (ROS). By encapsulating the polymer in micelles, controlled drug release can be achieved. Experimental results demonstrate that these micelles can simultaneously encapsulate anticancer drugs and photosensitizers, exhibiting high therapeutic efficacy for synergistic chemo-photodynamic cancer therapy.

A temperature-responsive release cellulose-based microcapsule loaded with chlorpyrifos for sustainable pest control

Douxin Xiao et al.

Summary: A temperature-responsive release microcapsule loaded with chlorpyrifos showed high pesticide-loading efficiency, adhesion on plant foliage, and protection against photodegradation. The controlled-release characteristics of the microcapsule could be adjusted based on temperature changes and the efficacy against pests was positively correlated with temperature-induced release rate changes. The acute toxicity of the microcapsule to zebrafish was significantly reduced compared to conventional pesticide formulations. These findings suggest that the microcapsule release system has great potential in developing effective and environmentally friendly pesticide formulations.
