Ultrasonography in the prediction of gout flares: a 12-month prospective observational study

Edoardo Cipolletta et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate whether ultrasound findings can predict gout flares over a 12-month period. The results showed that the presence of urate deposits and inflammation detected by ultrasound were associated with gout flares. Therefore, ultrasound can be used as a predictive tool for gout flares.

Ultrasound findings of calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease at metacarpophalangeal joints

Edoardo Cipolletta et al.

Summary: This study provides pictorial evidence of the broad spectrum of ultrasound findings indicating CPP deposits at metacarpophalangeal joints in CPPD. Furthermore, different ultrasound patterns were observed in different CPPD phenotypes.

Diagnostic value of different imaging features for patients with suspected gout: A network meta-analysis

Sarah Stewart et al.

Summary: This study compared the diagnostic accuracy of different imaging features for gout using network meta-analysis methodology. The results showed that DECT and ultrasound are both useful for detecting MSU crystal deposition imaging features, with similar overall diagnostic accuracy for gout diagnoses.
