Prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its related factors among Vietnamese people: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Summary: This review examines the prevalence of MetS and its related factors in Vietnam. The findings reveal that the prevalence of MetS among the adult population in Vietnam is 16.1%, with higher rates among females. Low HDL-C is the most common component of MetS. Being female, living in urban areas, having obesity, and having higher body mass index or body fat percentage are associated with an increased likelihood of having MetS.
