Autoimmune Thyroiditis Shifting from Hashimoto's Thyroiditis to Graves' Disease

Narantsatsral Daramjav et al.

Summary: In 15-20% of cases, Graves' disease shifts to Hashimoto's thyroiditis, while the shift from Hashimoto's to Graves' is rare. We present a case of a patient in whom Hashimoto's disease shifted to Graves', along with a literature review.

ShearWave™ elastography for evaluation of the elasticity of Hashimoto's thyroiditis

Haifang Liu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the elasticity of Hashimoto's thyroiditis through SWE and found significant impact of gender on healthy thyroid elasticity values as well as variations in elasticity values among different stages of Hashimoto's thyroiditis patients. Low degree correlation between elasticity values and TPOAB was observed in male patients, while there was no such correlation in female patients.

A case of Hashimoto's thyroiditis following Graves' disease

Ibtissem Oueslati et al.

Summary: Graves' disease and Hashimoto's thyroiditis are two autoimmune thyroid diseases, and the occurrence of Hashimoto's thyroiditis following Graves' disease has been rarely reported. The case report describes a patient who developed Hashimoto's thyroiditis several years after receiving treatment for Graves' disease.

The effect of radioiodine treatment on the characteristics of TRAb in Graves' disease

Ya Fang et al.

Summary: After receiving radioiodine treatment, serum TRAb and TPOAb levels in GD patients initially increased but then gradually decreased. Five years post-treatment, TRAb levels decreased in 88% of patients and TPOAb levels decreased in 65% of patients. Additionally, there was a higher proportion of patients positive for TSAb in the 7-12 month group after RAI therapy, and TBAb levels were elevated in half of the patients after one year of I-131 treatment.

Diagnostic Utility of Mean Peak Systolic Velocity of Superior Thyroid Artery in Differentiating Graves' Disease from Thyroiditis

Pradosh K. Sarangi et al.

Summary: Differentiating Graves' disease from thyroiditis can be challenging clinically, but using color Doppler ultrasonography to assess thyroid blood flow parameters shows promising results in this study. The mean STA-PSV has high sensitivity and specificity for distinguishing between Graves' disease and thyroiditis.
