Utility of the Ages and Stages Questionnaire to Identify Developmental Delay in Children Aged 12 to 60 Months A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Saravanan Muthusamy et al.

Summary: The Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) is a commonly used developmental screening tool for children aged 12-60 months. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the utility of ASQ as a screening or diagnostic tool for identifying developmental delay. The results showed that ASQ had moderate sensitivity and specificity in predicting developmental delay in different domains, but the certainty of evidence was low or very low. These findings suggest that ASQ can be a useful tool, but further research is needed to improve its reliability and effectiveness.

Neurodevelopmental outcomes at age 5 among children born preterm: EPIPAGE-2 cohort study

Veronique Pierrat et al.

Summary: This study aimed to describe neurodevelopment at age 5 among children born preterm. The results showed that rates of neurodevelopment disabilities increased as gestational age decreased and were higher in families with low socioeconomic status. The findings indicate that early interventions and support are crucial for preterm children to optimize their development outcomes.
