Shuxia Yang et al.

Summary: Reasonable planning of the location and capacity of Distributed PV-Energy Storage Systems (DPVES) in the Distribution Network (DN) is a key measure to reduce negative impacts and promote renewable energy consumption. This study establishes a bi-level planning model considering the uncertainty of DPV output power and user demand response behavior, aiming at maximizing revenue and local consumption rate while minimizing voltage deviation in the DN nodes. Four planning scenarios in the IEEE-33 node distribution system are analyzed and discussed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model.

Development of a Mathematical Model to Size the Photovoltaic and Storage Battery Based on the Energy Demand Pattern of the House

Han Chang et al.

Summary: Solar energy is widely used in buildings worldwide, but the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation varies with environmental fluctuations, making it difficult to control and match the electricity load of the house. The use of storage batteries and photovoltaic panels can improve energy supply stability but introduce higher initial costs, with larger photovoltaic and battery capacity resulting in higher costs. Determining the suitable size of photovoltaic and storage battery for a house requires considering the energy demand of the house.

The linkage between renewable energy potential and sustainable development: Understanding solar energy variability and photovoltaic power potential in Tibet, China

Aike Kan et al.

Summary: The assessment of solar energy potential in Tibet using high-resolution global surface solar radiation data revealed spatial-temporal heterogeneity in seasonal variability, with most areas having a predicted PV power potential exceeding 330 kWh/m(2). However, the study also found significant variations in solar radiation during autumn and winter seasons, with the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River experiencing lower levels. PV power was found to be unaffected by annual trends in solar radiation in most areas of Tibet, indicating a mismatch between solar energy potential and actual PV development. This study provides valuable insights for improving decision-making in solar energy development at local and regional scales.
