Summary: High entropy alloys have attracted significant interest due to their unique physical and chemical properties. In this study, CoNiCuMgZn high entropy alloy was embedded onto ultrathin two-dimensional holey graphene conducting substrates, resulting in a material with remarkable catalytic activity and stability for hydrogen evolution reaction. The embedded structure of high entropy alloy onto graphene was found to significantly benefit H* sorption and catalytic kinetics.

The characteristics of excellent electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution for FeCoNi based high entropy alloys

Summary: This study reports a type of high-entropy-alloy-electrocatalyst and investigates the effect of the C element on the electrocatalytic performance for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The results show that the crystalline Fe35Co25Ni25P7.5C7.5 exhibits superior catalytic activities and stability, achieving a low overpotential of 88 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm-2. This work provides a new insight into the development of high-entropy-alloy-catalysts and enhances the understanding of the alloying effects on the catalytic process.
