Mapping clubroot resistance of Brassica rapa introgressed into Brassica napus and development of molecular markers for the resistance

Muhammad Jakir Hasan et al.

Summary: This study reports the genetic basis of clubroot resistance in B. rapa var. pekinensis cultivar 'Bilko' introgressed into B. napus, mapping this resistance using a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population. A single gene controlling resistance to a specific pathotype was identified, with associated genomic region on chromosome A03. Allele-specific markers from the TIR-NB-LRR gene Bra012688 co-segregated with the resistance, indicating their potential use in breeding for clubroot resistance in B. napus.
