The transcription factor LaMYC4 from lavender regulates volatile Terpenoid biosynthesis

Yanmei Dong et al.

Summary: This study characterized the stress-responsive transcription factor LaMYC4 in regulating volatile terpenoid synthesis in lavender. LaMYC4 showed differential expression in different tissues, with its promoter containing hormone and stress-responsive elements. Overexpression of LaMYC4 increased sesquiterpenoid levels in Arabidopsis and tobacco plants.

Enhanced Biosynthesis of Chlorogenic Acid and Its Derivatives in Methyl-Jasmonate-Treated Gardenia jasminoides Cells: A Study on Metabolic and Transcriptional Responses of Cells

Zebo Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, MeJA was used to enhance the accumulation of CQAs in cultured Gardenia jasminoides cells, and the possible molecular mechanism behind this was explored by analyzing time-course transcriptional profiles. The results showed that differentially expressed genes related to JAs biosynthesis and signal transduction, precursor biosynthesis for CQAs, CQAs biosynthesis, and transporters were continuously upregulated, indicating activation of the jasmonic acid signal transduction network and stimulation of CQAs biosynthesis. Additionally, various transcription factors, particularly from the MYB family, were found to positively or negatively regulate phenylpropanoids, including CQAs biosynthesis.
