Synthesis and biological evaluation of N-(benzene sulfonyl)acetamide derivatives as anti-inflammatory and analgesic agents with COX-2/5-LOX/TRPV1 multifunctional inhibitory activity

Wenli Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of structurally novel N-(benzene sulfonyl) acetamide derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated as COX-2/5-LOX/TRPV1 multitarget inhibitors for anti-inflammatory and analgesic therapy. Compound 9a and 9b showed favorable inhibitory activities against COX-2, 5-LOX, and TRPV1. In vivo efficacy studies demonstrated that compound 9a was effective in relieving formalin-induced pain and inhibiting capsaicin-induced ear edema.

FTIR differentiation based on genomic DNA for species identification of Shigella isolates from stool samples

Babak Pakbin et al.

Summary: The study developed a sensitive and specific method using FTIR, PCA, and HCA assays to differentiate four species of Shigella isolates from stool samples. The FTIR method showed distinct spectra for each species, with high specificity and sensitivity for identifying and differentiating all species in the samples.

The 2-hydroxy-3-(4-aryl-1-piperazinyl)propyl Phthalimide Derivatives as Prodrugs-Spectroscopic and Theoretical Binding Studies with Plasma Proteins

Aleksandra Marciniak et al.

Summary: This study showed the results of interactions between non-toxic anti-inflammatory phthalimide analogs and plasma proteins albumin, orosomucoid, and gamma globulins. Through spectroscopic methods and molecular modeling, it was demonstrated that all four tested compounds formed complexes with the analyzed proteins, enhancing the pharmacological efficacy of the drugs. These findings could be a step forward in the study of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of potential pharmaceuticals.

Kinetic and structural investigations of novel inhibitors of human epithelial 15-lipoxygenase-2

Wan-Chen Tsai et al.

Summary: This study reported newly discovered molecules that are more potent and structurally distinct from previous inhibitors, along with the development of binding models for three imidazole inhibitors and the synthesis of novel inhibitors of the imidazole scaffold. Additionally, the study demonstrated the activity of these inhibitors in an h15-LOX-2/HEK293 cell assay, suggesting their potential as important tool compounds for understanding h15-LOX-2's role in human biology and development as therapeutic agents.

Spectroscopic Studies of Quinobenzothiazine Derivative in Terms of the In Vitro Interaction with Selected Human Plasma Proteins. Part 1

Aleksandra Owczarzy et al.

Summary: Plasma proteins play a crucial role in transporting substances, including potential anticancer drugs like 5-alkyl-12(H)-quino[3,4-b][1,4]benzothiazinium salts. The study analyzed the binding of one of these derivatives (Salt1) to human serum albumin, alpha-1-acid glycoprotein, and human gamma globulin, showing strong binding to AGP. The research identified binding sites and revealed that Salt1 may bind to specific sites on HSA, with no effect on protein structures.
