Junliang Zhou et al.

Summary: This study investigates a cationic amphiphilic polymer with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristic, which can localize to mitochondria with excellent organelle targeting and show good cytotoxicity. Additionally, the polymer can self-assemble into doxorubicin-loaded micelles with high encapsulation rate and small particle size. Therefore, it can be used as a substitute for expensive mitochondrial targeting reagents and as a drug loading tool for mitochondrial targeting therapeutic research.

Colorimetric detection of Hg2+ ion using fluorescein/thiourea sensor as a receptor in aqueous medium

Esam M. Bakir et al.

Summary: The fluorescent thio-urea (FLTU) receptor, prepared in a 1:1 molar ratio of fluorescein dye and thiourea, selectively detects Hg2+ ions through the formation of hydrogen bonds, changing the receptor color from yellow to red. The lower detection limit (LOD) and quantitation limit (LOQ) of Hg2+ ions with the receptor FLTU are 0.24 and 0.73 nmol L-1, respectively, as determined by absorption spectroscopy.
