A comprehensive review of solid oxide fuel cells operating on various promising alternative fuels

Qidong Xu et al.

Summary: This article comprehensively reviews the electrochemical performances and stabilities of SOFCs operating on various fuels. Although comparable power densities to hydrogen were frequently obtained, degradation problems induced by these fuels influence the long-term stable operation of SOFCs. Potential strategies from three perspectives of thermodynamics, kinetics and structure are proposed to solve degradation issues. The remaining challenges and future prospects of SOFCs fed by each fuel are separately elaborated.

Novel Electrochemical Sensors Based on L-Proline Assisted LDH for H2O2 Determination in Healthy and Diabetic Urine

Mauro Tomassetti et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel non-enzymatic modified glassy carbon (GC) sensor for hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) determination in healthy and diabetic human urine. The sensor is based on the (GC-Ag-paste)-catalytic proline-assisted LDH system, where LDH is attached to the glassy carbon using silver paste and proline is utilized to enhance the catalytic properties of LDH. The sensor exhibits high sensitivity and the proline-assisted LDH system effectively detects H2O2 in the urine samples.
