Analytic Hierarchy Processes (AHP) evaluation of green roof- and green wall- based UHI mitigation strategies via ENVI-met simulations

Jacopo Iaria et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of different landscape restoration scenarios on the mitigation of urban heat island (UHI) at the pedestrian level in densely urbanized areas of Mediterranean climate. Analytic Hierarchy Processes (AHP) are used to analyze the temperature outputs of different scenarios applied to urban areas in Rome, Bari, and Florence. The results show that increasing coverage percentage and leaf area index (LAI) can effectively mitigate UHI, and the impact of building height varies for different green building technologies.
