Assessment of ambient air quality, meteorological parameters, and emission source characteristics of canakkale, Turkey

S. Mentese et al.

Summary: The study investigated the temporal and spatial effects of air pollution and meteorological parameters in three towns of Canakkale City, Turkey. It found that particulate matter levels increased in Central town, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides levels increased in Lapseki, while air pollutants in Can showed a decreasing trend. Seasonal and diurnal variations were observed in the air pollutants in all three towns. Source apportionments of air quality were explained by correlation analysis and polar plots, indicating contributions of combustion, traffic, and accumulation of pollutants under certain meteorological conditions.
