In Vivo and In Vitro Antimicrobial Activity of Biogenic Silver Nanoparticles against Staphylococcus aureus Clinical Isolates

Nashwah G. M. Attallah et al.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized silver nanoparticles using Gardenia thailandica leaf extract for the first time, and demonstrated their potential antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. The active constituents in the leaf extract were identified and their antioxidant activity was evaluated. The synthesized silver nanoparticles were characterized using various analytical techniques. Further experiments revealed that the silver nanoparticles induced morphological changes and altered gene expression in S. aureus bacteria, and showed wound healing and anti-inflammatory effects in vivo.

Green Coffee Bean Extract Normalize Obesity-Induced Alterations of Metabolic Parameters in Rats by Upregulating Adiponectin and GLUT4 Levels and Reducing RBP-4 and HOMA-IR

Esraa M. Seliem et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of Coffea arabica or green coffee bean extract (GCBE) on obesity and its associated disorders. GCBE administration has been shown to decrease body and organ weights, improve serum biochemical parameters, and reduce adipocyte hypertrophy. GCBE also enhances insulin resistance and reduces inflammation. These findings suggest that GCBE may be a natural supplement for preventing and treating obesity and its related health issues.
