Phytochemical Analysis, Antioxidant and Bone Anabolic Effects of Blainvillea acmella (L.) Philipson

Summary: This study evaluated the chemical composition and antioxidant activity of Blainvillea acmella extracts and assessed their anabolic effects on bone cells. The results showed that the ethanol extract of B. acmella had higher antioxidant and bone anabolic activities, and these effects were positively correlated with phenolic content.

Polymeric Microparticles: Synthesis, Characterization and In Vitro Evaluation for Pulmonary Delivery of Rifampicin

Summary: This study designed inhalable spray-dried, rifampicin-loaded microparticles using aloe vera powder as an immune modulator, with varying concentrations of alginate and L-leucine. The physicochemical properties, in vitro drug release, and aerodynamic behavior of the microparticles were evaluated. The results showed that the microparticles had appropriate size and shape, and the drug release rate was influenced by the concentration of L-leucine. The slow release of the microparticles allows sufficient time for phagocytosis by alveolar macrophages, leading to the eradication of M. tuberculosis.
