Summary: This study explores the causal relationship between CO2 emissions, economic growth, available energy, and employment in Southeastern European countries. The results show that there is a bidirectional causality between CO2 emissions and employment, as well as between available energy and employment. Furthermore, there is a unidirectional causality from available energy and employment to GDP.

Summary: This study identifies aggregate domestic consumption spending as a novel driver of carbon dioxide emissions in Pakistan based on data from 1973 to 2018. The results show that in the short run, aggregate domestic consumption spending has a significant effect on carbon dioxide emissions. Positive and negative shocks deteriorate and ameliorate environmental quality by increasing and decreasing pollution, respectively. The study also highlights the importance of promoting green products for sustainable development.

Summary: This study focuses on the potential of hydrogen as an energy carrier and storage medium in the clean energy transformation. It provides a review of hydrogen production, storage, transmission, and applications, and compares national hydrogen strategies. To enhance competitiveness, Qatar should emphasize blue and turquoise hydrogen production in the short/medium term, incorporate green hydrogen in the future, and invest in technological research and development to compete with other gas-exporting countries with abundant renewable energy potential.

Summary: As the world's largest carbon emitter, China must make significant efforts to peak its emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. This study examines different scenarios and evaluates the pathways, energy transformation, technology, policy, and investment demands necessary for carbon neutrality. The findings highlight the challenges and investment requirements for China to achieve its carbon neutrality goals.

Summary: The German energy transition has been praised as a model for climate action, but plans for large-scale LNG import terminals are at odds with the country's climate targets. The study investigates the evolution of the natural gas sector in Germany and the mechanisms supporting the adoption of LNG, highlighting the overlooked lock-in potential and emissions that could complicate and slow down energy transitions in more advanced stages.

Summary: The global economy is facing a major transition that requires reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, posing a global challenge. The European Green Deal aims for climate neutrality by 2050, but economic growth is a major barrier to achieving emission reduction targets. Climate policies in the Baltic States are insufficient for reaching the 2030 emission reduction goals, indicating a need for stronger climate mitigation measures.

Summary: The study demonstrates that integrating large-scale renewable energy technologies can reduce emission rates from electricity production at relatively lower costs. Various scenarios of single and hybrid renewable energy combinations show that increasing the share of renewable energy in electricity production is feasible. Market simulations suggest that total annual costs for scenarios integrating renewable energy could be lower than the current reference case deployed in the country.

Summary: This study compares the environmental performance of electric and conventional gasoline vehicles in Qatar using a life-cycle assessment method. The results show that electric vehicles have lower carbon emissions, even when electricity is generated from non-renewable sources like natural gas. Despite promising results, there is a lack of willingness among Qatar users to adopt electric vehicles, highlighting the need for more incentives to achieve the goal of decarbonizing transportation.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the heterogeneous dynamic causality among the intensity of energy use, land agglomeration, carbon dioxide emissions, and economic progress across the development levels in the Chinese economy. Key findings include the impacts of economic progress and land agglomeration on CO2 emissions varying across different regions of China. The study reveals that the development level matters in determining the links among the variables of interest.
